You will lead our team delivering an ambitious programme of physical regeneration and growth, critical to Swindon’s future success.  You will use all available levers and innovative delivery methods to ensure that Swindon attracts mixed-use investment and development that will create a successful and attractive town for current and future generations. You will lead or oversee key projects and programmes which will deliver place making outcomes and key enabling infrastructure, aligned with a wide range of place focussed delivery plans (Economy, Heritage, Transport etc) including the Draft Local Plan 2043.

Your next role

On a day-to-day basis, you will represent the council’s and Swindon’s interests (acting as commissioner/client/partner in varying relationships) and work with external providers to ensure they make effective contributions to the delivery of priorities on Regeneration, Town Centre vitality, growth and positioning Swindon a great place to live, work, visit and invest. You will lead on the management and development of relationships and agreements with landowners, developers, investors, businesses, central government and wider partners with the objective of achieving continuous improvement in quality of place, built environment and the expanded offer of activities for residents.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
