We are seeking to recruit 2 x Business Support Administrators within our Central Business Support team and Early Help/Adults Team who are motivated, enthusiastic and team players. 

Your next role

The role involves the provision of professional administrative support to multiple internal services within the Council, alongside supporting the general public via telephone and email with applications/queries in areas such Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Health Visiting and Blue Badges.

You will have experience of working in a customer-focused environment, gathering information, processing work requests in line with Service Level Agreements, maintaining accurate records and working closely with others.

You will also need a good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications as well as excellent telephone manner and a systematic approach to working within a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multi-task. Accuracy and communication skills are key as well as the ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.

Key elements of this role are:

  • To process work from multiple mailboxes and using multiple data bases.
  • To maintain data bases ensuring that all information is up to date and accurate.
  • To work closely with colleagues to ensure a smooth efficient delivery of service in line with Service Level Agreements.
  • Be organised in managing your work levels.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to work with multiple services and disciplines.
  • Be adaptable to change and work within the Values and Behaviours framework of Swindon Borough Council.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
