You will join our Council’s Grounds, Trees and Country Parks department as a skilled Landscape Gardener/Play Ground Inspector.

Your next role

Your main duties will include general gardening, landscaping, play area inspections and carrying out minor repairs to the play areas and fencing/gate repairs in our Country Parks.

You will be working in the public domain representing the Borough Council so a polite nature and smart appearance will be required.

You will need to be physically fit for this role as it involves bending, lifting, twisting manual handling and working outside in all weather conditions.

The use of mechanically powered machinery is a requisite of this role as is driving a light goods vehicle.

Lone working is to be expected in this role and the ability to work on your own initiative at times will be required subsequently your ability to work independently at times is crucial.

A uniform is supplied and training where required will be given.

A ROSPA play inspector’s certification would be advantageous.

The hours of work are: Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:00 and Friday 07:30 - 12:30.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
