Your next role

Swindon Borough Council is seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Trading Standards professional to provide a full range of Trading Standards functions, including the undertaking of criminal investigations for serious breaches of Trading Standards legislation.

The applicant will hold a Diploma in Trading Standards (DTS) and have significant experience working within the Trading Standards profession. 

We are a small, busy and friendly team working with other Regulatory Services within the Council, which includes Environmental Health and Licensing.

You will be required to be self-motivated with good time management skills in order to manage and prioritise your workload.  You will possess excellent people skills allied with the proven ability to listen, explain, negotiate and influence.  You will have a track record of good performance and will be able to work flexibly.

A basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required for this position.

Candidates must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
