Your next role

Enabling & Support Services are looking for x 3 confident and enthusiastic administrators to join our busy teams providing administrative support across the Children’s & Adult Services.  This role is based in Wat Tyler House in the town centre, however, we are operating Hybrid working with office and working from home days.

The Children’s & Adult teams provide support to Swindon’s most vulnerable residents and our business support teams support them with their day to day activities.

Key elements of the roles are:

  • Arranging, attending and taking of notes at meetings
  • Answering queries received by telephone; signpost or forward a message to a relevant colleague and appropriately handle stressful situations involving vulnerable clients, recording on relevant databases as appropriate.
  • Administration of petty cash and use of a procurement card for work related purchases, and support team/s with other financial tasks.
  • Ability to cope with highly sensitive information and demonstrate resilience when dealing with upsetting information.
  • Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when dealing with client’s personal details, this will include telephone calls, typing reports, legal documents and data recording.
  • General administration, which includes saving documents, scanning and recording the post and distributing reports received by email.

The successful applicants will need to demonstrate excellent ICT skills (including specific use of Microsoft Packages), customer service and communication (written and verbal) skills, the ability to prioritise and multitask, be able to work independently and as part of a team.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
