Your next role
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to build a career in IT with a customer service driven and professional IT Service Delivery Team. Working as part of the on-site Desktop Support Team this role provides a wide range of support to council staff to ensure that their operational needs are met in a timely and efficient manner and to a high quality.
With strong customer service skills and demonstrable technical experience and ability, you will be highly motivated with a positive and professional attitude. Good planning, organisational and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the business.
Your role will include:
- Providing 2nd line technical support on all aspects of hardware, software and peripherals
- Troubleshooting and diagnosis of issues, involving other support teams and external suppliers where appropriate
- Ensuring service requests are logged and documented accurately and that the customer is kept updated regularly
- Assisting with major project works and delivering small level project work such as moves and upgrades
Skills / Experience:
- Experience in providing IT support in a customer service role, such as an IT Service Desk or a Desktop Support Engineer role
- Good knowledge of current Windows operating systems for end user devices
- Experience of MS Office applications, Office 365 and Active Directory
- Basic experience of WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi and VPN support
- Experience of working in an ITIL environment would be beneficial
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in subjects including English and Maths
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
