Supported Housing Cleaning Assistant
Job specification
Swindon Borough Council provide support to around 140 individuals and families at seven supported housing schemes across the borough where they are experiencing homelessness and are housed in temporary accommodation. We are looking for a new member of our team to ensure that we continue to deliver the best possible standard of cleanliness and hygiene in our empty properties, communal areas, and gardens.
Your next role
You will have experience in a cleaning role preferably in a commercial environment. You will be familiar with Health and Safety legislation and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
This post will involve periods of physical exertion/movement, and will be required to carry heavy equipment at times. Applicants need to be able to use stairs, small step ladders and general cleaning garden equipment.
For this role you will be part of our Supported Housing cleaning team based at one of our temporary accommodation buildings between 8.00am – 16:00pm Monday to Thursday and 08:00am – 15:30pm Friday
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
