In this role you will provide senior level placemaking, urban design and expertise of the historic environment to support the delivery of the Council’s planning functions in a customer focused and solutions led way creating the right conditions for accelerating high-quality development and supporting sustainable growth in Swindon.
Through you, the Council’s responsibilities in relation to all matters of placemaking, urban design and through historic environment will be discharged. This will include providing solutions-based advice on major development proposals, complex heritage matters and contributing to policy development which promotes high quality built and historic environments across the Borough.
Your next role
Through your manager, you will support the Chief Planning Officer to unlock planning barriers and provide the appropriate policy context to shape key regeneration projects, transform the town centre and support the council’s emerging new ways of localities working.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
