If you are an enthusiastic, resilient Employment Advisor, we want you to join us and be part of the growing supported internship programme that we deliver here at Swindon Borough Council.
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, flexible, committed and self-motivated staff member who has an innovative and creative approach which ensures young people who have a range of special educational needs, achieve the best possible learning outcomes.
Your role

We understand how important this role is for the young people of Swindon, implementing strength-based approaches to working with participants and employers.

We are delighted to be working with Amazon, and on site you will also work alongside the Tutor from New College Swindon, whose role it is to support the interns in their lessons. You will also support the students through all aspects of their internships.
Duties will include but not be limited to:

- Creating resources such as visuals to support the students in their job roles
- Liaising with host departments and managers within Amazon
- Undertaking bespoke CPD from Project Search
About you
Applicants must have experience of supporting students with a range of SEND, an excellent understanding of safeguarding protocol and procedures and hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent.
Experience of Supporting students with travel training and some work outside of the education sector would be desirable.
You will be working from 8.45 am – 4.45pm Monday to Friday. This is subject to change. On occasion, you may be required to work outside of these hours, due to business demands.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
