We are currently looking for a confident, dynamic, enthusiastic and proactive practitioner to join our busy 0-19 Public Health Nursing Service. We aim to offer the Healthy Child Programme to Children, Young People and Families in Swindon by empowering and supporting families to adopt a healthy lifestyle and create a safe and stable environment for their children.
Your next role
Our aim is to promote the long-term health and wellbeing of young children and their families by following the national Healthy Child Programme (Pre-birth to 5 years). This includes universal contacts to all families and more intensive targeted support to those who have been identified as having vulnerability factors or for whom there are acknowledged risks including safeguarding concerns.
You will be managed as part of the Health Visiting team and all activities will contribute to the overall delivery of the commissioned Health Visiting Service.
Activities undertaken will include working in partnership with the named Health Visitor in delivering aspects of the Universal Healthy Child Programme as well as assisting in the assessing of a family’s needs and providing an agreed package of care. Partnership working with other members of the Public Health Nursing Service as well as with other agencies will be key to successful working.
About you:
- Eager to learn and develop within a health focussed environment.
- Have a passion and desire to want to support and help service users within the 0-19 Public Health Nursing Service.
- Be open to changes and confident on challenging processes, which will enable streamlining of working practices.
- Work with a wide range of people from different backgrounds and demonstrate strong communication skills.
- It would be desirable to have experience of working with Public Health Nurses from the 0-19 Public Health Nursing Service.
- Have a valid UK driving licence and a car to travel for work purposes.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
You will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check
