Your next role

Swindon Borough Council is seeking to recruit a Youth Justice Service Administrator to join their Youth Justice Service in Swindon.

The Youth Justice Service is a multi-disciplinary team who works with Children and Young People aged 10-17 years who have come into contact with the Police and are subject to a range of interventions such as Out of Court Disposals, Community and Custody Disposals.

We are looking for an experienced, committed and highly motivated staff member with a high level of skill and knowledge base to join our multi-disciplinary service in order to help us continue to deliver an effective service.

In this role you will work in a fast-paced office environment providing administrative support to the Youth Justice Service including the preparation of court papers, inputting results and contacts onto the case management system, minuting Youth Justice Service meetings, supporting with meeting preparation, phone monitoring, reception services and raising invoices. You will support in ensuring that the administrative demands of the Youth Justice Service are met.

You will also be required to support managers, operational staff and members of the public in a sensitive environment. You will be required to liaise with external agencies and organisations including but not limited to, Social Care, the Courts, Police and the Crown Prosecution Service. Your understanding of the importance of excellent communication skills will be crucial given the level of multi-agency work involved.  

The successful applicant will be IT literate and experienced in administration support.

Candidates must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
