It’s all for better public services. Better processes. And a better quality of life, for everyone. Join us, and Swindon will be better with you.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to work at Swindon’s OK4U day service.  The centre provides a range of activities to support life skills, health and wellbeing, sensory and communication.  You will be part of specialist team responsible for supporting people with learning disabilities, encouraging and supporting people to make their own choices, improve their independence and developing new skills for the future.

Your next role

You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a friendly approach and the ability to work in an ever-changing environment. Experience of working in the community or care home with people with learning disabilities is desirable.

Your responsibilities will include providing a continuous assessment of service users’ needs and monitor the aims, objectives and outcomes of the Support/Care Plan along with the ability to accurately complete forms and maintain records.

This is a varied role within a friendly and supportive team and provides opportunities for a variety of training. Successful applicants will be required to attend an induction programme as well as in house, online and bespoke training. As part of this role you will need good verbal and written skills, as well as the ability to use computers, including Microsoft packages and email.

Must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).

Your next package

As an employee, you will receive a diverse and exciting environment in which to work, encouraging creativity and innovation whilst recognising the need to support ongoing personal development and a flexible work life balance.

For Swindon to thrive in the future, we need to lay the foundations now. It’s why our regeneration and transformation programmes are already underway. So, you’ll be joining us at an exciting time on our journey. We’ll look to you to share your knowledge, influence decisions and drive real, positive change. With your contributions, we’ll achieve our vision of a prosperous, re-vitalised Swindon together. And you’ll be proud to say it was made better with you.

Please see our Vision and Values page for more details.
