Your next role

Community Staff Nurses are a valued part of our skill mix team, who work with the Named Health Visitor and Early Years Family Practitioners to empower Children, Young People and Families to make healthy lifestyle choices. They are able to offer Healthy Child Programme contacts, identifying when extra help may be required and offer the appropriate support or signposting as needed under the direction of named Health Visitor.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to build effective working relationships with a wide range of people. They will have exceptional time management and organisational skills and demonstrate a resilient, brave and connected mind set. The ability to travel throughout the Borough is essential and therefore a car driver would be preferable. This is an excellent career development opportunity for anyone considering SCPHN training in the future.

About you:

  • You’ll bring excellent communication skills and be able to build effective working relationships with a wide range of people in addition to your exceptional organisational skills and a resilient, brave and connected mind set to successfully contribute to delivering the Health Visiting service offer.
  • You will need to be pro-active and creative in engaging with children, young people and families.
  • You will need to be a qualified nurse, hold a current NMC registration with up to date revalidation.
  • You will be expected to evidence continuous professional development and have a desire to progress and learn.
  • You will understand the need for change and be able to flexibly accommodate it positively.
  • You will be offered a tailored induction programme and full training with support through our well designed preceptorship programme.
  • You must be able to travel throughout Swindon. Having access to a car would be preferable as you will work in a variety of settings to include the family home.
  • You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
