The Hearing Support Team are seeking to appoint an 0.8 Qualified Advisory Teacher of the Deaf to join our highly regarded and established team in Swindon from September 2024. 

You should be a qualified Teacher of the Deaf. You will have an interest in multi-professional, holistic working with a commitment to inclusion. You will use your experience and skills to enhance the provision for children and young people across the educational sector. UPR may be available for a qualified teacher of the deaf with relevant experience.   

 About the role

The Service supports the educational needs of deaf children and young people in mainstream settings and specialist schools across Swindon. You will raise the educational achievement of deaf children by providing assessments, advice, training, and direct teaching to the children and those who work with them. You will teach and work directly with children to develop their language and learning skills. Our expectation is that all members of the team work in partnership with the schools, families, and other professionals.

This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
