Lukasz Pepel - Desktop Support Engineer

How long have you worked here? 

I started my adventure with Swindon Borough Council in June 2019 as Civil Enforcement Officer in Highways and Transport. After 8 months, I moved to the IT department and started a new role as Service Desk Analyst. After this role, in September 2021 I became Desktop Support Engineer.

What attracted you to work here and what do you enjoy about your role? 

I always wanted to work for Local Authority and that was the most important thing for me. I was looking for a permanent contract and Swindon Borough Council gave me a chance to achieve it. I enjoy working with people, solving software and

hardware issues – it was always fun for me. I feel satisfaction when a laptop or desktop PC is fixed and there is a smile on the users face.

Your ambitions for the future?

I would like still to develop my career in the IT department.  I am looking forward to improving my technical skills especially with servers.

A bit about you personally

I love to visit places with my National Trust membership. In my spare time, I like to travel across the UK and explore new places landscapes and cities where I can stay for a day or two.
