STEAM, Museum of the Great Western Railway, is seeking a commercially focussed and ambitious Events & Conferencing Officer with significant experience in event management to join our successful Museums and Heritage team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing STEAM’s busy conferencing business whilst developing an attractive events package that caters for the needs of our corporate and community sectors. You will seek new and innovative ways to keep the Museum brand fresh so that visitors continue to be inspired and engaged and have the capability to manage multiple events at any one time whilst still maintaining an impeccable eye for detail and service. 

You will create, plan, develop and implement a successful and inspirational programme of events and activities which are appropriately branded, financially viable, cost effective and sustainable, in order to attract and retain audiences and raise levels of attendance and income to deliver STEAM’s business plan objectives.

Candidates must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).

The successful candidate will be flexible to work evenings and weekends when required to support the events and hospitality programme.
