We are looking for a Strategic Growth Officer to join the Growth Team at Swindon Borough Council. It’s an exciting, varied role which will get you involved at the heart of Swindon’s economic growth and in the wider context of Swindon as a regional and national player.

Swindon is one of the UK’s fastest growing towns, earning us a voice in key strategic partnerships across Swindon and Wiltshire beyond. We have ongoing investment of over one billion pounds in town centre regeneration, 12,000 new competitively-priced homes, burgeoning new sectors coupled with well-established industries - and an evolving Local Industrial Strategy which will develop these to further drive this dynamic and productive economy. It’s a town that’s going places and you can be part of the journey we’re on.

You will work as part of the Strategic Growth team to manage projects, also to develop and deliver strategies that enable Swindon’s economy to prosper by enabling strategic growth and driving economic outcomes for the town and the region.

You will contribute to, and lead on aspects of, the development and delivery of evidence-based strategies that create the environment in which jobs, skills, housing and transport can drive economic growth.

You will support the Head of Strategic Growth by leading programme management, performance and risk monitoring, progress reporting and stakeholder management, ensuring workload prioritised within key time parameters.

You’ll also support the Head of Strategic Growth in lead role with Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership, other key partnerships and SBC strategic programmes.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).

In return for your talents, we offer a range of benefits including:

•       Flexible working
•       25 days holiday
•       Free car parking at our central Swindon campus
•       A career average revalued earnings (CARE) pension scheme
•       Leisure Discounts/ Legal Services discounts
•       Eating Out, Shopping and Entertainment discounts

If you feel you could bring your skills and experience to the team during this busy time, we’d like to hear from you. For an informal discussion please contact pvenables@swindon.gov.uk
