About Us

At Swindon Borough Council, we understand what matters to our residents: an affordable home, good education, job opportunities and quality of life in a great location, as one of the UK’s fastest growing towns.

That’s why we’re working with partners to deliver our ambitious vision for Swindon so that the borough continues to thrive in the future and benefits from well-managed growth, investment and regeneration.

We now have an excellent opportunity for a Performance Analyst to join our small and friendly Corporate Performance Team - with the chance to progress, shape and challenge our service.

About the role

In this key position you will provide statistics and performance analysis to Early Help and Children’s Services staff, senior managers and elected members internally as well as to government departments.

Working as part of the Corporate Performance Team, you will contribute to the development of performance analysis to meet changing business requirements.

The Corporate Performance Team is a newly formed small team, passionate about getting the most insight from our data.  You’ll get the opportunity to learn a range of skills in data analysis and presentation and see how data is used in action across a wide range of Council services.

We are forward thinking and looking for new talent and ideas, therefore this is a great opportunity for you to challenge and shape our service, in an organisation that truly makes a difference to the local community.

We are focused in supporting your professional development & can offer award winning leadership development programmes as well as coaching and mentoring networks.

This role is 37 hours per week but we operate an agile working policy, allowing you to manage your own diary and work flexibly, including off-site/remote working.

About You

You’ll have a fascination with data and how it can be used to measure performance and help services improve.

Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience, you’ll have experience of analytical work and strong Microsoft Excel skills.  In addition you will have an eye for detail with a strong customer service focus.  Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will ensure that our service standards remain high.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).

In return you will receive:

•    Flexible working
•    25 days holiday
•    Free car parking at our central Swindon campus
•    A career average revalued earnings (CARE) pension scheme
•    Leisure Discounts/ Legal Services discounts
•    Eating Out, Shopping and Entertainment discounts
