We’re looking for a talented communication professional to be the Council’s strategic lead and source of expertise on engagement and internal communications. You’ll be responsible for working directly with the Council’s leadership team and colleagues across the Council, supporting them to communicate with and engage our staff, communities and partners.
In this role you’ll apply your proven experience, knowledge and skills to help senior leaders to clearly and consistently engage internal and external audiences in the Council’s story: our purpose, priorities and ambitions, supporting two-way communications.
You’ll proactively research, recommend and introduce innovative and creative face-to-face and digital engagement and internal communications tools and approaches, led by audience insight and good practice elsewhere.
Overseeing the strategic direction for all our corporate engagement and internal communications activity, you will understand the importance of placing clear objectives and evaluation at the heart of all your work.
This will be a stimulating and challenging role for a confident, creative self-starter who can get things done. You’ll be joining an ambitious, friendly team with a strong ethos of continuous improvement and professional development.
This is not a run-of-the-mill communications role. This is a chance to make a huge difference working for one of Swindon’s biggest employers.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
