Swindon Libraries and Information Service (SLIS) are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, organised and experienced Volunteer Development Coordinator who will also manage our volunteer led Home Library Service.

The Volunteer Development Coordinator is responsible for the development, recruitment, training and oversight of library volunteers across the five core Libraries, as well as ensuring the smooth running of our Home Library Service.

You will be working alongside the Library Outreach team, frontline staff and Library Supervisors so need to be confident communicating with a wide range of people both within the organisation and externally. 

The ability to work collaboratively with team members and delivery partners supporting volunteers to achieve their goals is essential.

The role will require you to work independently as well as in liaison with co-workers and volunteers. The post holder will be required to work flexibly with occasional evening and weekend work as and when required.

Experience managing volunteers is essential. Library experience would be desirable. 

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role.)
