About the role

The Opal Team specialises in working with child exploitation along with our partners Wiltshire Police.

It is an exciting time to be joining the team as we are developing our new adolescence service and the Opal Team will be a key within this. This service will be designed around the principles of contextual safeguarding, when assessing the harm children face outside the family home.

We are looking for a Social Worker who is passionate and committed to providing support to teenagers and their families who are at risk of child exploitation. The successful candidate will have good assessment skills and the ability to build relationships with young people/children.  Alongside the child, family and professional network the SW will be key in developing robust plans that address identified push/pull factors of exploitation to improve the outcomes for the child/young person through for example, improving self-esteem, identifying their aspirations and the disruption of those causing the harm.

The Team also offers consultancy and facilitates training for colleagues across the Swindon partnership
